Every year the Australian Workforce and Productivity Agency (AWPA) ‘flags’ a number of occupations which are borderline in terms of their inclusion on the Skilled Occupation List (SOL). According to the AWPA website, these occupations may be removed in future years subject to monitoring of the labour market, education and migration data and evidence from stakeholders in relation to future oversupply issues, migration outcomes and areas of specific need. Being taken off the SOL means that these occupations will no longer be available for subclass 189 Independent visa, or Family Sponsored Points Tested visa or Temporary Graduate (subclass 485) – Graduate Work Stream.
Below is the list of flagged occupations, currently included on the SOL, that are being monitored for significant changes in labour market conditions:
