Based in Austin & Nanjing, David Barrutia is the International Executive Liaison of LH Global and parent company Pilot Group. David has 20 years of experience in international business, education and media. A former TV host, author and certified foreign expert in China, David has held leadership positions at the largest education company, New Oriental , as well as the most prestigious public school system, Beijing No.4 High School. He is an adviser to Tsinghua University, the China Education Association for International Exchange (CEAIE), and China Online under the Chinese Ministry of Education. David enjoys writing newspaper articles (e.g. Huffington Post, Xinhua, WES) and giving conference presentations to industry professionals (e.g. NAFSA, NACAC, HECA, TABS, NAIS, WLSA). In the US, David has worked to build bridges of friendship, exchange and investments with Silicon Valley tech industry, Texas governor’s office, Austin mayor’s office, SXSW as well as Neil Bush & Haitong Securities in support of the Sino-US Cultural Industry Development Investment Fund, a major achievement of the Seventh US-China High-Level Consultation of People-to-People Exchange, co-chaired by Secretary of State John Kerry and Chinese Vice Premier Liu Yandong.
