The Minister for Trade and Investment the Hon Andrew Robb MP has recently released that the Chinese outbound tourism market remains the strongest source of growth for the Australian inbound tourism industry.

In a press release by the Minister earlier this month, the Minister said “China remained the dominant source of growth with a 22 per cent increase in visitor numbers (864,000) and a 32 per cent increase in expenditure. Chinese tourists are now worth some $7 billion to the Australian economy.”

The Minister also went on to say that this is the strongest period of inbound growth since the Sydney Olympics.
